In the heart of the of one of the busiest transportation hubs in the world, The International Synagogue serves travelers from around the globe. Offering everything from religious services, rabbinic counseling, and mourner services, to acting as a place to relax while waiting for a flight, the Synagogue is a vital resource for the Jewish community.
For over 50 years, The International Synagogue —The Rabbi Alvin and Rosalind Poplackz"l Memorial Chapel — has been committed to providing important religious and travel services for the Jewish traveler. Our goal is to ease the burden of travel and meet the unique needs of Jews from around the world both within the International terminal at JFK and through valuable online resources.
The International Synagogue was the staging area for sending off Israeli soldiers returning home to fight the war against Hamas. Volunteers packed huge duffel bags overflowing with needed supplies for the IDF such as food and treats, toiletries, boots and batteries, and more.
